Tamil film Sukran is an action-drama thriller that was released in the year 2005. The movie, directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar, is a combination of romance, social commentary, and courtroom drama. Plot Overview
The plot is of two college students, Ravi Shankar, and Sandhya, who are in love. Their relationship is however highly opposed by the manipulative stepmother of Sandhya who has intentions of marriage to her uncle. Ravi would not want to stay in the situation and thus his father assists the young couple to relocate to Chennai.
However, it all goes wrong as the father of Ravi is killed and the boy, Ravi is wrongly accused of the killing. The system is corrupted and controlled by influential criminals among the officials and it makes the life of Ravi miserable. Sandhya is also the victim of violence and injustice of influential men who abuse their power.
When the couple has lost all hope and is even thinking of ending their lives, a shrouded criminal lawyer by the name of Sukran comes into the scene. Sukran encourages them to struggle to get justice and begin a new life. In the later scenes, when the villains keep tormenting them, Ravi avenges them and kills the criminals that made their lives miserable.
This is where Sukran comes out in act three to defend Ravi in court and to expose the whole truth about the corruption. It is through his actions that the victims of the wrong-doing are avenged and the injustice of the law system is revealed.
